Lead clinician in myeloid disease- acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), myelodysplasia (MDS), chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), myeloproliferative diseases and bone marrow failure syndromes including aplastic anaemia.
Extensive experience in the management of all leukaemias and myeloma.
Bone marrow/Stem cell transplantation Autologous, allogeneic and unrelated procedures.
Director of the Haematology and Transplant Unit (HTU); Lead Clinician for the GMCCN Southern Sector MDT
Member of the NCRN AML working group; Member of the NCRN MDS subgroup
Dr Mike Dennis is a consultant Haematologist, and Director of the Haematology and Transplant Unit at The Christie. He qualified in Medicine from the University of Dundee in 1991 and completed his physician's training in Liverpool before undertaking his first Haematology post in Australia. He returned to the UK and his first appointment at The Christie in 1996 and then completed his Haematology training, including a MD from the University of Liverpool. He was appointed consultant Haematologist at The Christie in 2004. He is an established national expert in myeloid disease and member of the British Society for Haematology, the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Pathologists and the European group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT).
