Dr Kulkarni studied medical sciences at the Government Medical College in India, graduating in 1987, then went on to gain his MD qualification in 1991. Dr Kulkarni has held several posts in haematology in India and the UK, starting at the Christie Hospital in 2010. He is currently the lead for Myeloma, ALL, and young adult haematology-oncology, as well as apheresis and the stem cell donor service. Dr Kulkarni has also had numerous lecturing roles including at the Royal Marsden, Royal College of Radiologists, and the Christie. He is now the educational lead for Haematology at the Christie.
