Some of our patients may benefit from having a stem cell transplant. This is when healthy new stem cells are administered into your blood stream, which then go on to form healthy blood cells. These are typically donated by a family member or someone who is matched to you, or sometimes it is possible to use your own cells.
If you do not suffer from a blood disorder, you can help others by putting yourself on the Antony Nolan register, and if you are matched to someone who needs a transplant, you can give some of your stem cells via a bone marrow or blood sample.
