Mr. Gerard Diamond became the 1000th patient to have cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) at The Christie Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology centre (CPOC).
He made an excellent recovery from his CRS/HIPEC operation in December 2017 followed by successful liver surgery in February 2018. We were delighted to see him at the Christie in March 2018 as part on his on-going follow-up and are very grateful for his support. Pictured above are Professor Sarah O’Dwyer (CPOC director), Miss Rebecca Halstead (senior CNS), Mr. Gerard Diamond (patient), and Mr. Omer Aziz (his lead surgeon). Achieving this milestone was important for us as we continue to strive towards becoming a leading international centre in the field with excellent outcomes from the procedure.
