7-A-Side Football Tournament terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to Corporate 7-A-Side Football Tournament, which shall be referred to as an ‘Event’. The Christie Charity will hereafter be referred to as ‘The Charity’.

By registering for an Event, you agree to comply with the below. Participants of Corporate 7-A-Side Football Tournament should read this document carefully before registering to participate in the Event. The charity reserves the right to update or amend these to reflect necessary changes. Please check this page prior to your Event to familiarise yourself with latest updates as all changes. We reserve the right to ask participants and supporters to leave the Event if they do not adhere to these Terms and Conditions.

The Event is organised by The Charity, a registered charity with the Charity Commission; registered charity number: 1201654, registered address Wilmslow Road, Manchester, M20 4BX.

Participation Registration and Conduct

Applicants who have successfully registered (hereinafter referred to as ‘Participants’) will be notified by way of email confirmation from The Charity acknowledging that a place has been allocated to you.
Only registered participants are eligible to take part in the Event, and registrations must be received prior to the event date. On-the-day registrations will take place if maximum participants capacity isn’t reached prior to the event.
Event entry will close when the maximum participant capacity is reached, or on the closing date listed on the website event page, whichever occurs first.
For each registered participant, t-shirts will be provided and sent via post. Stocks of t-shirts are limited, and in the event that the size requested is not available we will send an alternative based on availability. Size exchanges are only possible at the event if available.
All participants and supporters must abide by these terms and conditions and any rules, instructions or regulations displayed or given on the day of the Event by Event officials.
Participants are responsible for their own safety during the Event and should carry a charged mobile phone with them which can be used in case of emergency.
We respectfully ask all participants and their supporters not to use aggressive or abusive language towards our Event organisers, volunteers, and other participants. You should avoid behaving in a way which may cause injury or harm to others, or which may cause offence or damage to the reputation of the charity.
We respectfully ask that all participants and supporters do not drop litter, but instead use the facilities available within the main event site, or take litter home to dispose of responsibly.
We respectfully ask that all participants refrain from consumption of alcohol or illegal substances prior or during the Event.
Participants are required to arrive only between the times listed on the Event webpage. Participants arriving outside of these times must abide by the instructions and decisions of the Event Manager or their representatives. For safety reasons latecomers will not be permitted to take part.
The Event Manager has the right to alter the Event in the face of extenuating circumstances.

Fundraising and Donations

The registration fee for this event is £200 per team which must be paid to The Christie Charity at the point of registration. Applicants who have successfully registered (hereinafter referred to as ‘Participants’) will be notified by way of email confirmation acknowledging that a place has been allocated to you.
We ask that participants pledge to raise a minimum of £500 (excluding Gift Aid and any registration fee) in sponsorship money. However please try to raise as much as possible to help support our vital work.
All participants have a legal responsibility to ensure that all sponsorship monies/donations received in connection with the Event are paid to The Charity. We ask participants to do so within one month of the event taking place. You can find out ways to pay by going to our donate page or by contacting us.
If the Event is cancelled or you decide not to participate, you are responsible for contacting your sponsors to inform them that you are no longer taking part and for confirming with them whether they are happy for the money they have donated to still be given to The Charity. If you are using sponsorship forms for your fundraising, all sponsorship forms and monies collected should be forwarded to The Charity or returned to your sponsors in accordance with their wishes.
We are unable to accept sponsorship money at the Event as we do not have suitable cash handling facilities to fulfil this process.

Cancellations and Changes

Any participant intending to cancel their place in the Event shall inform the Charity as soon as reasonably practicable. The participant acknowledges that the registration fee is non-refundable.
You may only transfer to another Event with our permission. Please contact us directly using the details and the website to enquire about transferring your place to another event.
A Participant can transfer their entry to another individual provided this takes place at least one week prior to the Event date. Notice of this must be communicated by the outgoing Participant by emailing the-christie.appeals.companies@nhs.net, clearly stating the desire to make a participant transfer and the full name and email address of the new entrant (“Incoming Participant”).
If the event is cancelled or postponed due to reasons beyond our control, we will make all reasonable attempts to reschedule the Event, but this is not guaranteed. If we are unable to rearrange another date you will be able to request a refund or kindly gift your registration fee to The Christie Charity.
We reserve the right to reduce or alter Event routes to accommodate any unexpected complications that may have an impact on the Charity staff, participants, volunteers, and spectators. Where possible, we will notify participants in advance of any significant changes.

Health, Safety and Medical

Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are sufficiently fit and healthy to take part in the Event. Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in the Event and must seek medical advice prior to the Event.
Participants acknowledge that they are personally responsible for their own belongings during the Event.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to the Event at our discretion, if for whatever reason we consider a person unfit to take part. We may also ask a participant to withdraw during the Event if we have concern about your ability to complete it due to fitness, injury or otherwise.
The Event is a football tournament. The site has been thoroughly risk-assessed for this activity only, and to participate by another means is not permitted. You understand by participating by another means that you absolve the charity of all responsibility, and progress at your own risk.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are wearing appropriate attire and footwear when taking part in the Event.
All participants must supply an emergency contact name and number.
We take all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to participants during the Event. Stringent risk assessment processes are in place to minimise or eliminate the risk to everyone taking part. By taking part in the Event, participants acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond our control that can lead to unforeseen risks. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact us before agreeing to take part in the Event.

Filming and Photography

The Charity and authorised photographer/videographer may film or photograph persons present at the event and use such footage or photographs to publicise the Event for commercial and/or fundraising purposes including, but not limited to, advertising, publications, marketing materials and other document that may be made available to the public and by our third party partners to publicise their involvement and/or association with the Event.
By taking part, participants confirm that they are happy for any video footage or photographs taken during their participation to be used by the Charity for the above. Should you prefer that the Charity do not use any such images in which you may appear which are taken at the Event, please contact us using the details listed on the website.

Liability

All participants, volunteers and spectators enter and attend an Event entirely at their own risk. We shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss to participants or their property that might occur as a result of their participation or attendance at an Event, other than in respect of any injury or loss arising as a result of our negligence. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this clause shall exclude or limit our liability for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Use of Personal Data

We value your support and promise to respect your privacy. By providing your personal information, you agree to us recording your details on our database, so we can provide you with the best possible support every time you contact us. We will also contact you from time to time by phone, email, text or post to tell you about how we can support you and how you can get involved with our team. Your details will be kept securely and only shared with our suppliers or partners who work on our behalf or with us to deliver and improve services for people affected by cancer. We never sell or swap your details with third parties.
