Go for a run
Whether you’re a regular runner or a complete jogging novice, you can run to raise money. Running can be a challenging and rewarding way to fundraise for The Christie Charity – and it’s easy to get started.
If you’re not a runner already, the NHS Couch to 5K podcast is a good place to start. You can build up your fitness level and stamina over several weeks, at your own pace.
When you’re ready to take part in a race, you can start off with a 5K event. You can also take part in shorter family runs.
Looking for a bit more of a running challenge? Why not take on a long-distance running event – 10K, half marathons and marathons are available all over the country.
Don’t fancy an organised race but still want to run to support The Christie? Here are some ideas to fundraise for running in a different way:
- Run to and from work for a month – ask your colleagues to sponsor you.
- Organise a running challenge in your workplace or school.
- Set up a fancy dress running event with your mates. You can get sponsorship to run in the silliest costumes – and have a great time!
We also have lots of running events you can take part in to help support the work of The Christie.
If you’re taking part in a race for The Christie, let us know using our online form. We’ll send you a sponsorship pack and free Christie t-shirt, as well as giving you great fundraising advice.
