Layla Bostock is the winner of The Christie’s You Made a Difference Award for February 2026.
The following comments were made about Layla in the February nominations. Judges picked her out as a very deserving winner and said that the comments made about her showed how she represents The Christie values and behaviours.
“Layla has been in the Trust for many years and worked initially on ward 4 then critical care. She has been a lung cancer clinical nurse specialist for 7 years, and has grown in the role, seeing patient and families in clinic, offering support, and coordinating their care and experience. She is very knowledgeable and supports her junior colleagues too. Layla is a people person, and she has a gift of quickly developing relationships and trust with patients and families. She is warm and funny, and patient appreciate her authenticity.

"She is very sociable, enjoys live music, clubs and going out with her friends. Loves traveling too and has been around the world. She loves her family, her mum and sisters, and her nephew Ruben, and spends a lot of time with them.”

"Layla has been a valued member of our team for 8 years. Layla gets amazing feedback from the relatives in her care. This month she has received a wonderful thank you card from a relative of a patient who sadly died saying what a difference seeing Layla along their many visits and reviews of their mum had made.
