Following the CQC rating us as good, our action plan has now been submitted to the CQC.
The CQC requires us to submit an action plan with timelines detailing how our next steps on how we will meet the ‘must dos’ highlighted in their recent report.
A wide range of staff have inputted into this action plan which will be monitored internally enabling staff to continue to feed back. The action plan has also been shared with the NHS England Specialised Commissioning team who will be updated on progress. It has also been sent to NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board for information.
The good rating means that no additional scrutiny is required and we will continue with our normal regular meetings with the CQC.

CQC IR(ME)R inspection
Following the CCQ inspection in which we were rated as good, the CQC has recently inspected our compliance with the Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations (IR(ME)R in radiotherapy. The findings are very positive and show that we are complaint with the regulations. The CQC has identified 3 areas for improvement but there are no “Must Do” requirements.
You can read the full CQC IR(ME)R report [PDF, 149 KB]. You can also read our CQC Radiotherapy IR(ME)R Improvement Plan [PDF, 100 KB]. The CQC does not itself publish this report externally and makes no separate rating score.
Thank you to all members of staff who were involved in this work.
