I have worked at The Christie for 17 years where I began my nursing career as a newly qualified staff nurse. I have developed my leadership role and potential throughout my time as an inpatient ward sister, senior sister and continue to learn and thrive as a Matron for SACT services. Widening my scope of practice and transitioning through inpatient and outpatient areas, I have a fuller appreciation of nursing within different environments and under different pressures.
I am very passionate about nursing and have worked hard to ensure I maintain competent in all of my clinical skills throughout my leadership roles which demonstrates my ability to lead by example and showcase a high standard of 'frontline' nursing care to my peers. I believe that having such a close relationship built on mutual respect with my nursing colleagues and seniors will enable me to confidently advocate for the Registered nurses within The Christie within a Governor role.
