Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

The Christie Proton School is led and run by experts in proton therapy and education from the Christie Proton Clinical Service, the University of Manchester and the School of Oncology. The course content is based on the specialist knowledge and experience of those who have developed the proton service and are involved in the delivery of proton therapy to patients here in Manchester.

What to expect

Live webinars of fundamentals of proton therapy, science and research in proton therapy and clinical application of proton therapy. Webinars will also include sessions on service and centre development.

Interactive delivery with opportunities to network with faculty and delegates virtually.

Week 2 – Monday 11 November and Wednesday 13 November 2024
Week 3 – Tuesday November and Friday 22 November 2024
Week 4 – Monday 25 November, Wednesday 27 November and Thursday 28 November 2024
Week 5 – Tuesday 3 December, Wednesday 4 December and Friday 6 December 2024
Week 6 – Tuesday 10 December, Wednesday 11 December and Thursday 12 December 2024

The above sessions will commence at the same time each day 8am to 10am GMT
