Jane Bennett – Technical Operations Manager
Jane has worked in the audio visual industry for 25 years and her background is in sound, lighting, design and installation in Theatre, TV and conferencing. Jane has worked in the Education centre for the last 16 years and is responsible for the day to day running of the centre.
David Glover – Senior AV Technician
David joined the Education centre team in 2010 and is responsible for facilitating both national and international courses and has taken a leading role in the organisation and running of surgical training courses within the School of Oncology.
To support this, the School employs a number of highly experienced audio-visual technical staff to provide support to meetings and events. These specialist skills ensure that all events are delivered to the highest quality standards. Equipment available within the Education Centre includes:

It’s state of the art professional audio-visual equipment enables a modern learning environment for a range of different events. All rooms offer an air conditioned environment in a variety of styles to suit various meeting types. The specialist clinical skills suite can be sub-divided and set up to suit a wide variety of clinical skills scenarios.
The newly renovated Simulation Room has benefited from industry level equipment and resources, which supports the delivery of critical care management teaching. Whether for CPD or specialist skills delivery, all training venues need a range of comfortable rooms with good light and great presentation equipment.

The Christie Education Centre’s unique position and role within cancer care, research and treatment, makes it an ideal venue to host stand-out events in the vibrant city of Manchester. The team are also able to offer a range of additional bespoke services to make your event.
Individual rooms or a selection of rooms are available to hire by the hour, half-day or full day. Technical support is provided and catering is available on request. Bespoke programmes can be organised to suit your needs. We provide excellent value for money and an excellent service.
The Christie Education Centre aims to be accessible and welcoming to everyone.
The Education Centre is located on the main Withington site of The Christie in the heart of the hospital. It is accessible via stairs and a lift (dimensions w 80cm x H 200cm x D 140cm) to the 1st and 2nd floors. Toilets are fully accessible on both floors of the building.
