The wig fitting service
You are entitled to a wig if your treatment causes hair loss. You must obtain a wig voucher before attending the wig service. You can obtain your free wig voucher from the cancer information centres at:
- The Christie main hospital site, Withington (located at the entrance to department 22).
- The Christie at Oldham site
- The Christie at Salford site
You will need your hospital number, name and address. You do not need to make an appointment for this.
Your voucher allows you to choose, free of charge, 1 wig from a specific range of wigs. This service includes consultation, fitting and styling.
If you wish to choose a wig from a more expensive range, you can use your Christie voucher and pay the extra amount on top to cover the increased cost.
You can arrange an appointment to see one of our specialists from Dimples in our wig room at The Christie or visit one of our salons listed below. Please remember that you need your wig voucher first as our specialist cannot see you without a voucher. If these locations or opening hours are unsuitable for you, or perhaps you are unable to attend due to your health, then please contact Dimples head office for further advice.
