Complementary Therapies are provided on the Critical Care Unit on a Monday but can be provided on an ad-hoc basis through the week should the need arise.

The Drop In Clinic is held every Tuesday and Thursday between 16:00 and 18:00 in the Rehabilitation Unit. Here we offer a free service for patients and carer. In the clinic we offer a range of treatments including back/Head massage, foot massage and smoking cessation.
There is also a group relaxation session between 18:00 and 18:30.

We also hold an acupuncture clinic, for patients only, during the Drop In clinic. Please note:
The therapists provide support to patients who need help during their radiotherapy treatment. An acupuncture clinic also takes place on a Friday to help patients who are experiencing side effects from treatment.

The clinic is for palliative care out-patients who need help with specific symptoms or are at end-of-life. A range of therapies are offered as appropriate.

We have a complementary therapist available every day in the pre-op assessment clinic. The therapists are there to support patients who find that they are experiencing difficulty with the idea of going through surgery. The therapists work with each patient and can teach them stress management techniques and/or use hypnotherapy to help them overcome their fears.
Please speak to one of the medical team on the pre-op clinic if you feel you need support.

We have a service operating on the Radiotherapy unit. As part of the calm service we support patients who feel anxious about their treatment.
This applies to any area such as MRI scans, CT scans, mould making or generally radiotherapy.
If you feel you need support please speak to the medical staff or radiographers.
This service is also available in Oldham and Salford.

The therapists at Salford support patients through their radiotherapy treatment if they find they need help. The therapists also provide smoking cessation support and alcohol advice for those patients who need help in abstaining.
