Information about the shop, cafe, restaurant and other facilities available on site.

The cancer information centre can provide information on all aspects of cancer via a drop in service face to face or over the telephone.

They can signpost you to services that will meet your needs such as counselling or complementary services or refer you to other professionals or voluntary organisations. They can provide emotional support and practical information to anyone affected by cancer, including relatives, carers and friends, in a relaxed and confidential environment.

Our chapel, prayer room (with ablution facilities) and multi-faith room are located in department 57 on the first floor. They are open 24 hours a day.

You can read more about what our spiritual care and chaplaincy service offers. This includes emotional and faith-based support and support with religious rituals such as communion, mass or anointing.

The Christie Charity Centre is located in the Oak Road reception area, in department 3. Here you can find information on upcoming Charity events and make donations to The Christie Charity. The Charity Centre also sells a range of gift items and stationery, with all profits going to The Christie. The charity centre is open:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, closed

We have a pleasant conservatory (department 9) leading to the garden where you can relax.

*Please note: occasionally the conservatory can be closed for pre-booked events.

M&S Food to Go is located in the Oak Road main entrance (department 3). The store offers a variety of hot and cold food and drinks including a range of cakes and pastries fresh from the in-store bakery. You can also click and collect your orders here from marksandspencer.com. M&S Food to Go is open:

  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm

Cashback is now available to all customers who make a minimum purchase of £1.

If your phone is running low on battery while you're visiting The Christie, you can charge up your device using our fast charging system. The phone charging system from ChargeBox is available in The Christie Restaurant (department 19), in the Oak Road waiting area next to M&S Food to Go (department 3), in the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) service in the Palatine Treatment Centre (department 30) and in the proton beam therapy centre at The Christie.

To use the charging system, you'll need to head to any of these sites and lock your phone in one of the 6 secure boxes. It takes just a few minutes for phones to charge from 0% to 20% and the fast charging system is completely free. You can also charge tablet devices and small laptops.

The Christie Restaurant is open to all patients and visitors, as well as staff. It is located in department 19 and is open from 7.15am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Wheelchairs are available from the main entrances on Oak Road, Wilmslow Road and Palatine Road.

There is a drop-off facility for all patients directly outside our Oak Road main entrance and the entrance on Wilmslow Road. Coin operated wheelchairs are also available from these drop off zones.

If you require any assistance with mobility or wheelchair access please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff. One of our friendly volunteers or a member of the security team will be on hand to help you.

WHSmith is located in the Oak Road main entrance (department 3). The store offers a range of snacks, newspapers, magazines, cards, stationery and toiletries. WHSmith is open:

  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm

The Christie offers a wireless internet connection to all patients and visitors to the Trust. This network is known as NHS Free Wifi.

If you have a wireless device such as a laptop, you can access the internet wirelessly in most areas of The Christie's Withington site.

Please note: The Christie ICT Support team will not be able to support patients or visitors' laptops. Users are responsible for configuring their own laptops.
