Strike action from Thursday 27 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024

Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

Patient facilities

Cafe bar

There is a cafe serving hot and cold drinks and snacks such as sandwiches, toast and a selection of confectionery.

Our cafe is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Outside of these times, patients and visitors can access a cold drink dispenser and cold water points throughout The Christie at Oldham.

When the cafe is closed, if there are any delays to services, we can provide patients with a hot drink on request.

The Shop@the Royal

There is a shop located in the main entrance of the Royal Oldham Hospital. Patients and visitors can buy snacks and drinks and a range of newspapers from this shop. Please see the Royal Oldham website for opening times.

The Café Royal

Within the Royal Oldham Hospital, there is a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Patients and visitors can buy snacks, sandwiches and hot meals. Please see the Royal Oldham website for opening times.
