Professional biography
Mr Sangar is an expert urological surgeon. He graduated from the University of Manchester and then went onto to complete his surgical and urological training (FRCS (Urol) in London, The North West and Strasbourg, before taking up his Consultant post at the Christie in 2007.
His main speciality is men's health, being nationally renowned for his practice in penile surgery, especially cancer. He also has significant expertise in urological cancer diagnostics and surgery for complex pelvic cancers. He works as part of one of the UK's premier pelvic cancer teams.
His interest in men's health extends to erectile dysfunction, infertility, scrotal problems and peyronies disease.
Mr Sangar's research interests are mainly in penile cancer, playing a significant role in building probably the largest penile cancer biobank in the world. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
He is the Lead Penile Surgeon for the North West of England, an Executive Committee member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons Section of Andrology and Genito-Urethral Surgery, Director of Surgery at The Christie and Chair of NHS England's Specialised Urology Clinical Reference Group.
