Strike action from Thursday 27 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024

Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

Getting your free flu jab as a cancer patient

Are you a Christie patient undergoing cancer treatment? You can get a free flu vaccine to protect you from the risk of flu.

People at high risk from COVID-19 are also those most at risk from flu. We are urging everyone who is eligible to take up the free flu vaccine this winter.

Please arrange to have a flu vaccine with your GP to reduce your risk from flu this winter. Members of your household can also have a free flu vaccine, as this will further reduce your risk.

If you are on a clinical trial, please speak to your research team or oncologist before having the flu vaccine.
