Ear cancer

If cancer starts in the ear, this is ear cancer. Ear cancer is very rare and is usually a type of skin cancer.

Cancer can develop on the outside of the ear or inside the ear. Ear cancer is rare and cancer that starts inside the ear is very rare.

Most ear cancers are a type of skin cancer, such as a melanoma. If skin cancer develops on the outside of the ear, there can be a visible sign of this. If you notice an irregular spot, sore or mark on your ear, it’s worth speaking to your doctor about this.

At The Christie, the head and neck and skin team in clinical oncology may treat types of ear cancer.
