The Alchemist at Media City UK found a festive way to support The Christie charity in December 2021. The popular cocktail bar and restaurant donated £1 from each Christmas menu bill to The Christie art room refurbishment.

Many staff members at The Alchemist at Media City UK have friends and family who have been treated at The Christie, so they were excited to raise money for the art room at the hospital.

The art room is one of the many services The Christie offers patients above and beyond what the NHS funds. It can make a life-changing difference to cancer treatment and recovery and is 100% funded by donations to The Christie charity.

At the art room, patients and their relatives can escape the busy clinical areas of the hospital and experience a therapeutic environment. They can forget real-world pressures and ease the anxiety of treatment.

The art room at The Christie is due to go through major refurbishment. Donations from our generous supporters like The Alchemist at Media City UK mean we can make improvements to the facilities and run more classes. This will help more of our patients benefit from the sense of community and support that the art room brings.

During December 2021, menu cards on each table at The Alchemist at Media City UK featured information about The Christie art room refurbishment and all the staff fully supported the campaign.
