Organising a charity concert for The Christie is a really different way to fundraise. And as well as helping to raise vital funds for cancer patients, it can also be a fun event for your friends and family.
To start with, you’ll need performers for your charity concert. If you know people who can sing or play an instrument, this is helpful. But if you don’t, get in touch with some local artists to ask them to play.
You’ll also need to make sure you book a suitable venue. When you’re booking, check if there are any restrictions on the type of concert you can hold there – e.g. how many people it can hold and what time you can play music until.
Most importantly, you’ll need to sell tickets to raise money for charity. You can sell these beforehand and on the door.
You’ll need to advertise your event well – otherwise people won’t turn up! Put up posters around your local area and posts on Facebook, and make sure you include the time, date and location of the event.
