Take a hike
Walking or trekking is a great way to get outdoors. And what’s more, it can also be a good way to support the vital work that The Christie does for cancer patients.
You can sign up for a sponsored walk either on your own or as part of a group. One of the best things about walking is that it’s something the whole family can do together. So if you want to get the kids out, going on a charity walk is a good option.
Charity walks range in difficulty, from a gentle stroll out in the countryside to a more serious endurance trek. But whether you want to do a shorter walk or a longer walk, it can all help to raise money for The Christie’s work.
If you fancy doing something a bit different, you can organise a more unusual walking event. Here are a few ideas:
- Organise a race walk in your office or school.
- Challenge yourself to do a sponsored orienteering exercise – try using just a map and a compass to get to your destination.
- Try a long-distance scenic walk to see a part of the country you’ve never visited. Or if you want to go further afield, go on an overseas walking challenge.
Take a look at the walks and treks you can sign up for to help fundraise for The Christie.
And if you’re already signed up to take part in a walk for The Christie, tell us with our online form. We can send you a sponsorship pack and free Christie t-shirt, as well as give you some helpful fundraising tips.
