RSM UK, Christie fundraisers
RSM UK are a provider of audit, tax and consulting services. They have been supporting The Christie since taking part in the Frosty 5K event in early 2020. After holding a number of fundraising events in their offices, their fundraising plans were unfortunately put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
But RSM UK didn’t stop fundraising for The Christie charity completely. They held some festive fundraisers in December, bringing their total fundraising in 2020 up to £2,000.
For 2021, RSM UK were determined to boost their fundraising efforts for The Christie charity. They signed up for The Christie Challenge to commit to raising money throughout the year.
To get fundraising underway, the team at RSM UK sent a football card round the staff members, and they’ve got some raffles and virtual sporting challenges planned. Each department is also planning to design a fundraising challenge for the whole office to engage with all of the individual teams.
RSM are hoping to get as many staff members involved in The Christie Challenge as possible, with around 200 employees currently working from home. By organising fundraising events, they’re hoping to get the team feeling engaged, staying connected and having fun.
“We are committed to giving The Christie Charity our best shot at fundraising in 2021 and we feel the medal challenge is a great way to stay focused on fundraising activities and initiatives and to have something to show for our achievements is a great way to keep staff motivated.
“We chose to support The Christie Charity because it is a local charity that, in support of the Christie NHS Trust, is helping to save or prolong the lives of the people we love. The Christie is striving to be ahead of the game when it comes to scientific breakthroughs and developments and we are very proud to support their various projects and help them to be able to deliver the very best in patient care.
“I would say that most people either know somebody currently receiving treatment at The Christie or have done in the past. Unfortunately cancer seems to be everywhere we look these days and the amazing work that goes into scientific research, equipment, treatment and general care at The Christie deserves significant support from the charity via companies like ours. Our input is imperative to ensure this support continues, especially given the impact the pandemic has had on fundraising totals.”
