Brenda Walker, Christie fundraiser

Brenda has been fundraising for The Christie since 1986. She was inspired after seeing first-hand the care The Christie provided for her sister Kathleen before she died.

Since retiring, Brenda has dedicated herself to fundraising for The Christie. She regularly appears in Rochdale and Bury town centres playing the keyboard to raise money for The Christie. Now, 2 years on, Brenda is still supporting the Touching Lives campaign to give thanks to The Christie charity for caring for her sister.

“My sister Kathleen was treated at The Christie but sadly passed away just before her 51st birthday back in 1992. I wanted to give something back for all the care and treatment she had received.
“We can’t do without The Christie and owe them everything for looking after Kathleen.
“I am continuing to support The Christie with my keyboard playing – I have quite a few venues booked for 2022.”
