Lottie, Anique, Izzy, Freya and Trinity, Christie fundraisers
This month, we’re putting a group of 5 sixth-form students from King’s School in Macclesfield in our fundraiser hall of fame.
Lottie Dennett, Anique Kuiper, Izzy Watkins, Freya White and Trinity Mack decided to take on a challenge to raise money for the new Christie at Macclesfield centre. The 5 friends were inspired to fundraise for the new cancer centre as King’s School runs an annual fashion show in support of The Christie charity.
Taking the idea of the fashion show one step further, the 5 students planned their ‘King’s Longest Catwalk’ fundraising challenge – a 20-mile walk from Lottie’s house in Glossop to Kings School.
But just taking on the huge walk wasn’t enough for the 5 friends. On top of that, they decided to start their walk at midnight, with the aim of arriving at school in time for morning registration at 8.40am!
On 7 December 2021, Lottie, Anique, Izzy, Freya and Trinity set off for their mammoth walking challenge. The night-time walk saw the students go without sleep and take on challenging weather conditions, before successfully reaching school in time to start their day’s studies.
“The walk was a real challenge (maybe December wasn’t the best month to choose)! but we are so thrilled that we completed it and we are really grateful for all of the support and generous sponsorship we received.”

With the King’s Longest Catwalk fundraising challenge, the 5 friends have collectively raised just under an amazing £3,870! We would like to say a huge thank you to Lottie, Anique, Izzy, Freya and Trinity and to everyone who supported them for raising such a fantastic sum of money in support of The Christie.
Kind donations like this and support from other generous fundraisers help us to continue to provide the very best care, treatment and facilities for our patients.
