Squire Patton Boggs, Christie fundraisers
International law firm Squire Patton Boggs first decided to support The Christie charity in October 2021. The fundraising committee at the Manchester office of Squire Patton Boggs decided the firm would take on The Christie Challenge to complete 6 fundraising activities in 12 months.
The Squire Patton Boggs team wanted to fundraise for The Christie charity as several staff members from the office had loved ones treated by the hospital. This meant they’d witnessed first-hand how important the work of The Christie charity is.
Having several personal connections to The Christie really brought the importance of fundraising for the charity home to the Squire Patton Boggs team. They said that raising money for The Christie charity felt like a way of standing in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
The activities Squire Patton Boggs completed included a bake sale, a charity netball match, Yorkshire 3 Peaks trek, raffles, a quiz, a winter party, a summer party, and a charity rounders match. Despite having 12 months to complete The Christie challenge, the team got their last challenge medal piece in August 2022.
“The Christie is an incredible local charity that has a wide-reaching, international impact. Our support is not only a way of helping to further their cause but a way of thanking The Christie for their remarkable contribution to this area and the many lives they have impacted.
“It was an honour and pleasure to work with such a beloved and worthy charity.”
