Victoria Graham, Christie fundraiser
This month, we’re putting Victoria Graham into our fundraiser hall of fame.
Victoria has been a supporter of The Christie since she was diagnosed with breast cancer and referred to the hospital in 2018. Under the care of The Christie, Victoria underwent an 8-month programme of chemotherapy, followed by 25 radiotherapy sessions.
After her treatment, Victoria was relieved to hear her cancer was in remission. She was so impressed with her treatment, she decided she wanted to raise money for The Christie charity to say thanks.
As the MD of Training Bytesize, experts in delivering project management and IT service management training, Victoria thought the best way to fundraise for The Christie charity would be with a corporate ball. She sold tables to her clients and business contacts but was left disappointed when her event had to be cancelled due to storm Arwen in November 2021.
But Victoria didn’t want to give up that easily. She’d been given an anonymous donation of £5,000 for The Christie charity for her first ball, and she knew she still wanted to plan a fundraising success.
Victoria planned a rescheduled event for April 2022. She sold tickets, with all money going to The Christie charity. This time, there were no storms to get in the way and the ball was a great success.
“It took me a while to find my strength and drive again but once I did, I knew I wanted to fundraise for The Christie especially after their fundraising took such a hit during and after the pandemic.
“As soon as face-to-face events were allowed, I took to making plans for a Fire and Ice Ball at Dorfold Hall in Nantwich. With the help of family and friends we pulled off a great event which resulted in nearly £16,000 for The Christie.
“It was a night to remember where much fun was had by everyone in attendance. It was amazing to be able to tell my story and raise awareness of the work The Christie does and how important early detection of cancer is.”

We’d like to say a big thanks to Victoria for all her hard work in organising the corporate charity ball – not once but twice! The fact she was able to arrange all this while running a business and raise so much money is testament to her motivation and devotion.
We’d also like to thank all the dedicated businesses supporters who attended Victoria’s ball and helped raise money for The Christie charity. Fundraising like this means we can keep supporting cancer patients and their families, over and above what the NHS funds.
