How The Christie is coping with COVID-19
Through this challenging period, we’re pleased to say The Christie’s world-class care is carrying on. We are continuing with our world-leading research projects and investing in innovation to improve patient outcomes and care.
We are fully committed to providing the best cancer care for Greater Manchester. This means working closely with other local hospitals to treat additional patients to the best of our ability.
For cancer patients who might need changes to their treatment under the current circumstances, our specialists are discussing this directly with each person. All communication around these issues comes directly from the patient’s consultant, and is shared with honesty, empathy and sensitivity.
By taking these steps, we can continue treatment for those who need it most urgently. If there’s one thing we want every Christie patient to know, it’s that we are here for them.
How The Christie charity is helping
Staff members from The Christie charity have gone the extra mile to help the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve been flexible, assisted colleagues and helped distribute all the amazing support the local community has offered.
And it’s not just the charity staff. Everybody at The Christie, from doctors and nurses to domestic and maintenance teams, are all doing the best jobs they can.
Despite the difficult situation, we are still doing all that we can to provide world-class cancer care for patients. Today, tomorrow, and beyond.
