Professional biography
Rebecca Faulkner is dual trained in both general surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology. Rebecca completed additional training in colorectal surgery during a fellowship with the peritoneal tumour service at The Christie Hospital in 2020. She obtained subspeciality training in gynaecological oncology surgery in 2006.
After being awarded a Medical Doctorate from the University of Manchester in 2005, Rebecca's research was funded by Cancer Research UK and she trialled a novel Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine. Rebecca studied medicine at Manchester University, qualifying with an honour’s degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Experimental Immunology and Oncology.
Rebecca has a special interest in complex pelvic and peritoneal surgery. She has specialist training in Hyperthermic Intra Peritoneal Chemotherapy for Ovarian Cancer. Rebecca completed the European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology fellowship, awarded by the European Society of Surgical Oncology in 2025.
She is an accredited colposcopist and has a regular cancer exclusion clinic. Rebecca is a fully qualified forensic physician; she was awarded a Diploma in Legal Medicine in 2018. Rebecca achieved membership with the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine in 2022.
