Responsibilities
Roles/responsibilities at The Christie:
- Lung radiotherapy clinics and MDT including the one-stop lung cancer clinic at Wythenshawe Hospital
- Pituitary/craniopharyngioma radiotherapy and systemic treatment
- Brain metastases radiotherapy management
- Integral member of service development groups with particular interest in developing and improving pathways for patients with brain metastases or spinal cord compression
- Metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC) Clinical Lead
- Brain metastases working group co-lead.
Roles/responsibilities at other sites: Co-Lead of the Tessa Jowell SRS Working Group.
Professional biography
Dr King graduated from the University of Manchester in 2009 and completed her general medical training at hospitals across the North West. She worked as a lung research fellow at the Wythenshawe hospital pulmonary oncology unit prior to clinical oncology training at The Christie in 2014.
Dr King was appointed as a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in 2023. She works at Wythenshawe Hospital, The Christie at Salford and at Christie main site, specialising in lung cancer, pituitary/craniopharyngioma management and brain metastases.
Educational Interests
Dr King regularly speaks at local, regional and national events on brain metastasis management.
