Responsibilities

Dr Randulfe is a Consultant in Medical Oncology specialising in lung cancer and acute oncology. He sees patients with thoracic cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer, and contributes to the acute oncology service at The Christie.

He is also involved in lung cancer research and clinical trials, including work as a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in national and international studies.

Dr Randulfe provides specialist thoracic oncology input at Wythenshawe Hospital, working closely with local teams to support the care of patients with lung cancer.

Professional biography

Dr Igor Randulfe graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, in 2016 and completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology at University Hospital A Coruña in 2022. He then worked as a Consultant in Medical Oncology at University Hospital A Coruña before moving to Manchester in 2023 to join The Christie as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow with the lung cancer team.

Dr Randulfe is a Consultant in Medical Oncology at The Christie, specialising in the treatment of thoracic malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. He is actively involved in lung cancer research and clinical trials. He has been a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in a number of clinical trials and observational studies, with a particular interest in immunotherapy, small cell lung cancer, real-world outcomes and improving access to clinical trials for patients with thoracic cancers.

Dr Randulfe is the author of several papers published in indexed, peer-reviewed international journals and has been invited to speak at national and international oncology meetings.

Research Interest

Dr Randulfe’s research interests include clinical trials and real-world research in lung cancer, with a particular focus on immunotherapy, small cell lung cancer, treatment outcomes, and ways to personalise treatment for patients with thoracic cancers.

He is also interested in improving access to clinical trials and using routinely collected clinical data to improve patient care.

Educational Interests

Dr Randulfe is interested in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, clinical supervision, and multidisciplinary teaching in oncology. His educational interests include lung cancer, acute oncology, clinical trial delivery, and supporting doctors in training.
