Partnerships experience

The Christie places high importance on the establishment of long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. This is in recognition of the immense value they bring in terms of clinical excellence, academic leadership and commercial benefits.

This can be exemplified by The Christie’s close working relationship with The University of Manchester, evidenced through the highly successful establishment of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC), and Innovate UK Manchester Advanced Therapy Centre Hub (iMATCH). The Christie collaborates on a wide range of research initiatives with academic, scientific and industry partners.

As an entrepreneurial organisation, The Christie has also formed a number of commercial partnerships including:

• Alliance Medical UK for the joint provision of national training in PET CT,
• Synlab UK for provision of advanced pathology services, and
• HCA Healthcare UK in the joint venture provision of The Christie Private Care.

Building on this experience, The Christie International has collaborated with partners on a number of exciting projects across the world, with the support of the UK government healthcare export agency, Healthcare UK and other public and commercial funding partners.
