CPCR has worked with multiple external collaborators to deliver high-quality, patient-centred research. Our collaborators have included NHS, academic, charity, and industry organisations and working groups. Within these collaborations, members of the CPCR team have fulfilled various roles to help achieve project aims and objectives.
The CPCR team are experts in study designs which investigate patient centred outcomes including quality of life and patient experience. We have provided guidance to multiple organisations as co-applicants and funded co-investigators, for grant applications and during the planning stages of research.
CPCR is an active research team and manages multiple research studies at any one time either as the lead site, an active recruitment centre or participant identification centre. We regularly assist in the set-up processes for patient centred research conducted at The Christie by liaising with our local research and innovation office. As CPCR is not limited to one clinical team or type of cancer, we are able to recruit participants for research studies from multiple clinical specialties.
Our studies range in complexity and design and we have substantial experience in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods study designs and data analysis. Although we are usually involved in projects throughout the entirety of the timeline, we may be able to support in analysing datasets.

Support for Christie employees
We regularly work with clinical staff at The Christie to assist in the delivery of their patient centred research. We can offer support at all the stages of the research pathway including patient and public involvement, preparing funding applications, study design, writing protocols and patient information, navigating governance processes, participant recruitment, analysis and dissemination.
For nurses and allied health professionals, we can support applications for initiatives such as NIHR internships and fellowships which are designed to enhance their research careers.
If you are a Christie member of staff and would like to discuss these opportunities, please contact us at the-christie.cpcr@nhs.net
