Brian McGlaulin, Christie volunteer

Brian McGlaulin volunteers as a driver at The Christie, a role he has been carrying out for over a year now.

Brian was a patient at The Christie in 2016 and the treatment he received at the time saved his life. When he retired, he decided it was time to 'give something back' to The Christie and he joined The Christie as a volunteer.

Currently, Brian works Thursdays and occasionally Fridays. His job entails delivering medicines to Christie patients that are unable to attend the hospital in person. He also takes packages to other Christie sites (The Christie at Oldham and The Christie at Salford). Occasionally he has been asked to collect or return a patient to or from their home address.

“On a personal level, volunteering gives me something to do in my retirement, and it gets me out of the house. Additionally, I have met some wonderful people at The Christie.
