Lewis McNuff, IT support technician

Lewis McNuff, an IT support technician in digital services is the winner of The Christie’s You Made a Difference Award for July 2024. The following comments were made about Lewis in the July nominations.

The judges picked Lewis out as a very deserving winner and said that the comments made about him showed how he represents The Christie values and behaviours.

“I am very pleased to hear Lewis has won the You Made A Difference award. He always puts in a huge amount of effort so it will mean a lot to him to be recognised for this!

“Lewis works in our 'tier 2' team at the Tech Bar in digital services. He deals with tickets and issues escalated to him by the first-line staff. He also goes out and about on visits to various departments to capture any issues that have yet to be logged with us, so many people will know his face!

“Lewis started with us as a T level student back in 2021 and very quicky made a positive impression, securing a role as an IT support analyst back in 2022 and then a role on my team as an IT support technician last summer.

“I think Lewis is a perfect candidate for the award, as he always puts in a great deal of effort when helping staff with their IT-related issues and gets on very well with everyone in my team. He has made a very good impression with staff, thanks to his friendly and professional manner and is well known around the Trust as a result. Some of his best work was last summer when he went above and beyond to help with the rollout of our new Trust smart printers, where he spent entire days on his feet going from printer to printer to fix problems.

As a manager, I feel I can always rely upon Lewis to not only resolve a problem in an efficient manner, but also to leave the customer feeling valued and listened to, providing an all-round great customer experience.  Lewis is a friendly and approachable person, with a passion for tech, video gaming and collecting/building Lego.

“Lewis has been incredibly helpful during our move of offices and even after. I really feel like he has gone above and beyond. He is always willing to help, always friendly and clearly enjoys his job. He is incredibly knowledgeable, deals really well with a high volume of (often daft!) questions and gets the job done really quickly and smoothly. He is a really pleasant person and often non-clinical facing staff go under looked. Thanks Lewis!”

“We recently moved to the Paterson building, and we were unsure how we would set up our computers for our team. Lewis went above and beyond and not only to help us move our IT equipment to our new office, but also set up all the computers for our team and made sure they were all working correctly. This took him hours, but he didn't leave until it was done. He is also really friendly and kind.”

  - Chloe Newton, staff member

“Lewis has been a great support to our team over the last few months. He went above and beyond when he moved all our IT equipment from our old office to our new one in the Paterson. He set us all up again and went above and beyond his job description. He has continued to support us on a weekly basis after this with any additional help we may require. He has always done this with a smile on his face. He is very friendly, and we have greatly appreciated him during this transition and after. Thanks Lewis. Keep up the good work!”
