Molly Darrington, a pre-op assessment nurse practitioner in the pre-op assessment clinic in clinical support and specialist surgery is the winner of The Christie’s You Made a Difference Award for November 2024. The following comments were made about Molly in the November nominations.
Judges picked Molly out as a very deserving winner and said that the comments made about her showed how she represents The Christie values and behaviours.
“Molly has been with the Trust in the pre-op team for nearly 2 years and is a fantastic nurse practitioner. Molly is wonderful with anxious patients and has a calming and mature approach, despite her young age.
“She adapted to her role quickly and I am happy to say has just secured a permanent role in the team, as she was covering a mat leave post until recently.
“We are very lucky to have her, and I look forward to supporting her professional development within the pre-op service.
“Molly is an excellent dancer and was a champion Irish dancer in her younger years. I hear Riverdance were keen to recruit her – luckily for us, their loss was our gain!
“She has recently bought her own house and is working hard to renovate it.
“Molly also has a niece and nephew and adores them, spending time with them whenever she can.
“Well done on the You Made a Difference award, Molly – very well deserved!”
