10,000 new patients are referred to The Christie each year from within the Greater Manchester area to be seen by a Christie consultant.
An additional 3,500 patients are referred who are resident outside of the Greater Manchester region. Patients are diagnosed at various trusts across the region, usually by the patient's local hospital, and then referred to The Christie to provide specialist care after initial diagnosis and sometimes after primary treatment.
