Eddie has lived in Chadderton for 40 years. His working life of 42 years was spent in the railway industry; he retired in 2009. He has been active in local politics for 25 years and a school governor for 20 years. He first stood for election as a councillor in 2011 and was elected to represent the Chadderton Central Ward.
Eddie is actively involved in school governance, he is Chair of Governors at both Mills Hill CPS and the Blue Coat School, and he is a Governor at the Radclyffe School.
Eddie is OMBC's Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing a member of Oldham's adoption panel and is a Trustee of the Oldham Enterprise Trust. He has previously served on the Fostering Panel, Transport for Greater Manchester, Planning Committee and was Chair of Licensing in 2013–14.
