This 2-day course aims to equip HEARTS Practitioners with the confidence and skills to teach HEARTS to colleagues in the workplace. By the end of the course, participants will have learned more about making presentations to managers, considered the relevance of adult learning styles, explored the pros and cons of various teaching methods, and developed skills in planning short courses and individual sessions. Other topics will include preparation for staff training, following up after the training, and monitoring and evaluation. We will also use examples from existing teachers in a variety of situations.
The skills we cover during the course are transferable to other topics and situations; a comprehensive training manual will be included.
Prerequisite: Participants must have completed a 2-day HEARTS course (or its equivalent) and have competed the HEARTS Practitioner Certificate. If you need to complete the Practitioner Certificate, please contact the-christie.ittu@nhs.net
