Strike action from Thursday 27 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024

Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

What we do

We provide information on all aspects of cancer via a drop in service face to face or over the telephone.

We can sign post you to services that will meet your needs such as counselling or complementary services or refer you to other professionals or voluntary organisations. We can provide emotional support and practical information to anyone affected by cancer, including relatives, carers and friends, in a relaxed and confidential environment.

We offer:

  • Cancer information booklets and materials
  • Signposting to benefits and financial advice
  • Signposting to employment support

Wig fitting services

  • Signposting to pampering services such as Look Good, Feel Better and Colour Me Beautiful
  • Signposting to other services or local support groups

Opening hours

We are open:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pmĀ (closed Bank Holidays)

Referrals

Patients, family members or other health professionals do not need an appointment to see a member of staff in the centre. Please just call in during our opening hours or telephone us. If it is out of hours please leave a telephone message and we will call you back on the next working day.
