Look Good Feel Better is a national cancer charity running free confidence-boosting workshops with trained volunteers from the beauty industry across the UK.
Patients who are having treatment at The Christie can take part in a Look Good Feel Better session, which take place at Maggie’s Manchester. The centre is located opposite The Christie if you exit from the Wilmslow Road entrance, at The Robert Parfett Building, 15 Kinnaird Road, Manchester, M20 4QL.
Look Good Feel Better is ran by experts who understand how challenging it can be to process a cancer diagnosis and manage the physical, as well as the emotional, side effects of cancer treatments. The free workshops have been specially created to support women, men and young adults through this time.
Those attending can find out practical advice about changes to skin, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, nails and body confidence. Volunteers in the health industry also lead wellbeing-focused workshops covering meditation, breathwork and gentle exercise to help reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety, while also providing an opportunity to meet people going through a similar situation.
