Meet the clinical oncology teams

Strike action from Thursday 27 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024

Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

Breast

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of breast cancers.

Gastrointestinal: Upper and Hepatobilliary

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of oesophagus, stomach, liver, biliary tract and pancreas cancers.

Gastrointestinal: Lower

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of colon cancers, rectal cancers and anal cancers.

Genitourinary

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of prostate, bladder, urinary tract, some types of testis and penis cancers.

Gynaecology

The clinical oncology team treat gynaecological patients with radiotherapy and brachytherapy and also treat patients with cervical, vaginal and vulval cancer with chemotherapy and other systemic treatments.

Head and neck, Skin

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of head and neck cancers, and skin cancers.

Lung

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of thoracic cancers, including non-small cell lung cancers, small cell lung cancers, thymus cancers, trachea cancers and pleura cancers (mesothelioma).

Lymphoma

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of cancers such as lymphoma.

Neuro-oncology

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of cancers within the brain and the spinal cord.

Paediatrics and young adults

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of cancers for children and young adults (under 24 years old).

Sarcoma

These oncologists specialise in the treatment of sarcomas. Sarcomas are a very rare type of tumour.

Testicular and germ cell

This team specialise in the treatment of germ cell and testicular cancers.
