Bowel cancer networking group

The clinical nurse specialist team at The Christie Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology Centre (CPOC) provide a bowel cancer networking group. This is for patients, their relatives and carers to attend both before and after cancer surgery.

The bowel cancer networking group offers emotional support and information, provides the opportunity to meet other people who have had similar treatment and also offers input from clinical nurse specialists and other health professionals as guest speakers.

The sessions have included talks from The Christie physiotherapists about getting back into exercise following treatment, including a Pilates session, a session surrounding fatigue management and support from our stoma care team as well as guest patient speakers sharing their cancer journeys.

Our upcoming bowel cancer networking group sessions

The bowel cancer networking group is held on the 3rd Monday of every month, from 2pm to 3.30pm. All sessions are held at the Maggie's Centre, Manchester. You can also attend meetings virtually if you prefer - please speak to your clinical nurse or Maggie's about this.
