International education
We are interested in developing surgical education overseas. The team from The Christie participated in the largest oncology conference in India organised through the IndoBritish Health initiative in 2013. This was followed by a conference in India on cytoreductive and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy in 2014.
Greater Manchester Cancer Academy - Colorectal Academy
The Greater Manchester Cancer Academy offers a series of Colorectal Cancer eLearning Resources, developed by the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance.
The Christie CPOC service has developed an appendiceal tumours module with Greater Manchester Cancer Academy. The interactive, CPD-accredited eLearning module is focused on appendiceal tumours, what to do when they are identified, how to refer to a specialist service and how they are managed. Healthcare professionals who treat patients with appendix tumours can sign up for the appendiceal tumours module on the GM Cancer Academy website.
