Strike action from Thursday 27 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024

Junior doctors at The Christie will strike from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

We are proactively contacting patients with appointments that may be affected. If you have an appointment on any of these dates, please continue to come to The Christie and our other centres as planned, unless we contact you to tell you otherwise. Please do not call to check if your appointment is still going ahead.

Adult rehabilitation services

We offer Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy to all inpatients during surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. During this time we deliver individualised, patient centred and empathetic rehabilitation programmes to optimise function and support discharge from hospital, whilst respecting patient's dignity and considering quality of life. We aim to encourage independence in order to assist individuals to manage their symptoms and side effects of cancer and it’s treatment such as:

  • Reduced Mobility
  • Weakness & Reduced Function
  • Pain
  • Breathlessness
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety

We also offer outpatient physiotherapy services to Christie patients with Breast Cancer, Sarcomas and/or Lymphoedema in addition to those who have undergone Plastic surgery.
