We have been pivotal in setting up the MCRC Tissue Biobank, one of the most successful Biobanks in England.
The Team have collected tissue since 2007 with some of the largest collections globally, for example over 300 penile cancer specimens.
Penile
The Team were some of the first to study the psychological effects of penile cancer therapy, jointly with Aberystwyth university. They have moved on to develop the largest tissue microarrays (TMA) known (150 pts) and are developing studies to determine prognostic indicators.
The side effects of surgery for penile cancer can be significant, we are developing the use of innovative technology and surgery to reduce side effects such as lymph node surgery.
