Professional biography

Dr Raffaele Califano graduated in Medicine and Surgery, summa cum laude, from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2003 and completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology, summa cum laude, in 2007. He then worked as Clinical Research Fellow with the lung and melanoma team at The Christie, being an investigator for several clinical trials in lung cancer and melanoma and developing a particular interest in molecularly driven clinical trials in lung cancer.

Dr Califano has been a consultant at The Christie and University Hospital of South Manchester since 2012 and specialises in the treatment of thoracic malignancies.

Dr Califano is the author of several papers published in indexed peer-reviewed international journals and he has been an invited speaker to several national and international oncology meetings.
