Professional biography
Dr Hanafi graduated from the University of Aberdeen and completed clinical oncology training at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow, finishing in 2023. He then spent time abroad completing a prestigious Sarcoma Radiation Oncology Fellowship at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, under the supervision of Professor Carolyn Freeman, finishing in 2024.
He was appointed as a Consultant in Clinical Oncology at The Christie in 2024, where he has a special interest in the treatment of bladder, prostate, and sarcoma cancers. Dr Hanafi has authored publications in Practical Oncology and Clinical Oncology journals and has presented his research at the British Uro-Oncology Group (BUG), European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), Canadian Association of Radiation Oncologists (CARO), and European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) conferences.
