Professional biography
Dr Patel completed his specialty training in clinical oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Preston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He then undertook a post-training clinical research fellowship at The Christie investigating the molecular signatures of rare head and neck tumours to help prognostication and identify targetable mutations for novel treatments.
Dr Patel joined The Christie consultant team as a locum in 2023 and as a permanent consultant in neuro-oncology in 2024. His specialist areas are in the care of primary brain and spinal tumours as well as providing stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases. With this, he also helps oversee a large, dedicated neuro-oncology trials clinic.
