Clinical trials at The Christie
At The Christie, our clinical trials benefit from our world-class skills and expertise. We have 100 Principal Investigators at The Christie – these are the people who lead research activity at each of the sites hosting the study. We also have 150 Clinical Delivery staff and another 150 Research Management staff working on clinical trials at The Christie.
This expertise is also supported by state-of-the-art buildings and international standard facilities.
- The National Institute for Health Research Manchester Clinical Research Facility specialises in early-phase and first-in-human clinical research trials
- The Wade Centre is a dedicated radiotherapy research facility
- The proton beam therapy centre at The Christie is the first of its kind in the NHS
- The new state-of-the-art cancer research centre being built on the site of our former Paterson building will bring together scientists, clinicians, and allied health professionals to enable world leading collaborative research.
