Chemotherapy is a type of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT). Chemotherapy information sheets provide details about individual chemotherapy treatments.
We also have a number of immunotherapy information sheets. Immunotherapy is a treatment which uses your immune system to fight cancer. It works by helping the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells. Some types of immunotherapy are also called targeted treatments or biological therapies.
Your doctor will discuss your treatment with you when you come to The Christie.
Each information sheet includes:
- name of drugs
- the way the drugs are given, for example, injection or via a drip
- treatment cycle (which days or weeks you have treatment and how long treatment lasts)
- side effects and how to cope
- contact numbers
